The Château De La Crée Experience begins at the Château with a brief history of the village of Santenay and Château de la Crée, founded on the land of 1431 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to Philippe le Bon, Duke of Burgundy.
Following our fascinating discussion, we head to our vineyard, Santenay - clos du Château.
The vineyard is planted with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and spans a total of 1.5 hectare, or 3.7 acres.
With fabulous scenery as our backdrop, the conversation turns to the Burgundy classification
and the influence of the terroir each with its own particular geology, topography, and aspect.
The topic changes to the Santenay appellation, Château de la Crée vineyards and,
of course, wine growing.
We will then lead you into our 15th-century vaulted cellars for an exceptional tasting of five Magnums (4 Pinot Noirs and 1 Chardonnay) including:
Pinot Noir
Santenay - Clos de la Confrérie 2016
Santenay Premier Cru - Gravières 2015
Santenay Premier Cru - Clos Faubard 2015
Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru - Les Didiers 2017
Chardonnay
Santenay Premier Cru - Beaurepaire 2016
In Magnum, these wines unfold differently: a slower, more graceful evolution, deeper balance, and a purity of expression unique to large formats. Presented in their individual wooden cases, each Magnum becomes not only a remarkable bottle to savour but also a meaningful, elegant gift.
A rare moment, crafted for those who appreciate mature vintages and the pleasure of sharing exceptional wines.
