2020 Harvest Experience
Program of the visit
Half day + Lunch

Dear friends, Dear wine lovers,

Have you ever dreamed about stepping into the shoes of a winemaker for a day and discover all the secrets of vinification.
Harvest is the product of a year of hard work in the vineyards, where it all begins. Months spent pruning, training, trimming, ploughing and caring. Months spent watching the sky, praying for the rain or the sun and fearing the frost and the storms.

Harvesting is putting the crop away, protecting these months of labour. So who could better tell you about the current 2020 vintage than Jean-Luc, Château de la Crée vineyard manager:

"in 2020 budbreak was extremely early, as often in recent years, and the vintage has consistently been ahead of a "normal" cycle, making 2020 the earliest vintage ever in Burgundy so far. Vines are very healthy and yields are similar to 2019. We did however more green harvest compared to 2019 as weather conditions at flowering and fruit set were perfect this year. It is now the time of the "veraison", (when the berries of the Pinot Noir turn purple). Few more weeks to wait and, fingers crossed, a great vintage is on the way."

Harvesting is the first act of vinification....
